Abstract

DORADO MENDEZ, Hugo Eliécer. Between the Intertextual Margins of a Tale and History: Remeaning of the History of Paraguay in "Esses Lopes" (1967). Lit. teor. hist. crit. [online]. 2021, vol.23, n.1, pp.103-120.  Epub Apr 05, 2021. ISSN 0123-5931.  https://doi.org/10.15446/lthc.v23n1.85018.

The paper proposes a reading and an analysis of the tale "Esses Lopes" (1967) under the perspective of a fictional reconstruction of the Paraguayan war in its first period as a free nation (1811-1870). Through the references, interrelations, and interpretations given in the study, we pretend to enable a new path of analyzing the tale. This without the intention of totalizing senses but to open breaches to new reading perspectives.

Keywords : Guimarães Rosa; history of Paraguay; literature and history; remeaning of the past.
