Abstract

This article addresses the interrelation between the epistemological project and the exercise of criticism in the work of the Palestinian thinker Edward W. Said. By going through several of his texts and linking them to contemporary refl ections of other intellectuals, the aim is to show the validity of concepts such as contrapuntal analysis, worldliness and exile t o understand the critical possibilities of contemporary intellectual work.
