Resumen

GALLEGO MONTES, Gabriel  y  GIRALDO AGUIRRE, Sebastián. Is war always already heterosexual? Homoeroticism, mating and mourning among male combatants of illegal armed groups in Colombia. Rev. colomb. antropol. [online]. 2023, vol.59, n.1, pp.8-31.  Epub 01-Ene-2023. ISSN 0486-6525.  https://doi.org/10.22380/2539472x.2402.

Wars have always been presented as eminently heterosexual. So far, the documentation on LGBT populations has focused mainly on the processes of victimization and survival. Nevertheless, there is a void in the understanding of homoeroticism among the combatant population. This article aims to reflect on other scenarios that put in tension the supposed heterosexuality of war, especially of its warriors, by describing and analyzing situations of pairing, co-residence, and mourning among male combatants of illegal armed groups. To discuss these issues, we will present the story of Mauricio, a member of the paramilitary ranks in eastern Caldas, Colombia. From this history, we will approach a cuir/queer reading that we have called queer phalotopies that tension the order of gender and sexuality in the territories of armed confrontation.

Palabras clave : homoerotism; masculinity; ex-combatant; armed conflict; Colombia.
