Abstract

MARTINEZ, Alejandro. CONTESTED ARCHIVE: ON THE REINVENTION OF ROBERTO BOLAÑO. perifrasis. rev.lit.teor.crit. [online]. 2022, vol.13, n.25, pp.225-241.  Epub Feb 27, 2022. ISSN 2145-8987.  https://doi.org/10.25025/perifrasis202213.25.14.

This article analyzes the controversies that arose after Bolaño's death focusing on the problem of his archive. It examines how the possession of the archive makes possible a form of posthumous writing by placing the writer and the heirs on the same authorial plane. It studies the controversy between Ignacio Echevarría and Carolina López, the exhibition Archivo Bolaño. 1977-2003, and the photographic reproductions of Bolaño's manuscripts included in his books published by Alfaguara. The article closes with a reflection on posthumous writing and the documentary, affective and productive values of the archive.

Keywords : Roberto Bolaño; archive; heritage; authorship; Latin American literature.
