Abstract

VIGNA, Diego Germán. Computer Archeology and Writing Processes in the Works of Daniel Moyano. The Epistolary Archive as a Fiction Laboratory. perifrasis. rev.lit.teor.crit. [online]. 2023, vol.14, n.30, pp.65-83.  Epub Sep 26, 2023. ISSN 2145-8987.  https://doi.org/10.25025/perifrasis202314.30.04.

This article is born from the study carried out on the literary work of the Argentine writer Daniel Moyano. In this particular work, I address his epistolary writing by recovering text files stored on an obsolete computer device. Considering a theoretical and methodological perspective based on critical-genetic premises, I pose two questions: what testimonial records can be considered "drafts" in the writing process of a narrative work? and what interference do technical advances have in the mutation of that process? My goal is to analyze how the "exhumed" correspondence of Daniel Moyano accounts, on the one hand, for a conscious use of computer storage as a new archival field and, on the other, for the specific use of the epistolary archive as a redaction instance of his fictions.

Keywords : Daniel Moyano; archives; genetic criticism; writing; drafts; correspondence; fiction; argentine literature.
