Mission
Acta Médica Colombiana, a journal in circulation since 1976 is the official publication of the Colombian Association of Internal Medicine founded in 1958, and it is dedicated to the promotion of the national scientific production in Internal Medicine and all specialties alike, following the most rigorous editorial parameters, as well as the revision methodology by the peers in the printed version enhancing the intercommunication possibilities with the readers in the online version. It is the oldest publication in the field of Internal Medicine and sub-specialties alike, having always been avant-garde of other journals and publications of its kind, given that it includes the expertise of all the medical schools in the country, a joint effort of internal medicine specialists of all Colombian universities in the scientific production as well as in its direction. Its main objective is the publication of original research works, but it also includes systematic literature revisions, updating and selected themes related to education and medical practice, communications and concepts about the latest subjects in the exercise of the profession in Colombia, clinical cases reports and one special section for presenting new images in Internal Medicine.
